Hi I'm Julia Kate, a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from Sherman Oaks, CA., and yes, I'm a valley girl, so please don’t judge. I'm currently a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston studying songwriting and voice. Growing up, I was inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Lorde, Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey, but I love all sorts of music and I am happiest at places like Coachella. I began writing my own original songs in high school when I was also introduced by a family friend to producer Johnny What (JuiceWRLD, Pentatonix). Johnny took me under his wing, and along with my music director Nick Rosen and Jacob Wick, formerly with the band Dreamers, the three of us crafted my first EP of originals, “just a kid” (released in 2022). Before heading to Berklee in the fall of 2023, I went back into the studio with Nick Rosen and recorded my second EP, “yearbook,” released in September 2023.
